We thought it was a good movie as usual, but was a disappointment which is to be expected.

OMD, you are so lucky, my mummy has to wait until 8pm tomorrow (UK time) & you would think she were off to the premier! This will be the first film she goes to see after having read the Book, so she will be able to compare. We're sorry you were disapointed, we have seen the 'Making of ' the film & think it looks fantastic...please say Loona is hilarious???

This was definitely the best movie yet, but I think it could've been better. David Yates style is amazing and I loved the camera work.

The thing that really upset me was Sirius' death. It just didn't feel right. I didn't get that tug on my heart, like I do every time I read it.

The acting was amazing (except for Michael Gambon, but I always complain about him). The trio handled their roles better, which surprised me. Of course, Jason Isaacs was superb, as was Alan Rickman.

Also, did anyone else love Sirius' animagus? I was so excited to see an Scottish Deerhound. Perfect choice!

Hi -
I am fairly new to the site - Sammy invited me a month or so ago. My skin sister saw the movie last night and said it was totally the best one. She said there were some things left out that she was disappointed in, but she likes some of the stuff that usually off-the-wall. And as she said... you can't do it all!! She said the scene in the Ministry is awesome.

My dad is out of town so my mom has to wait until this weekend.

We agree that it was the best movie yet, but we are always so disappointed!
Just yesterday I mentioned one of my fave HP quotes and in the movie it was barely an echo...
Sirius death was all wrong for me, for two reasons:
1. She used the killing curse...in the book wasn't Sirius just "knocked" into the archway?
2. The white cloth...it threw me off he was supposed to go through somewhere, so you couldn't tell where he went.. like maybe he was on the other side.
A couple other key parts I was disappointed with like the weasley's lack of swamp and Tonks' less than satisfying role.
Also the entire fight between Dumbledores Army and the Death Eaters, they missed A LOT!

A couple moments beat my expectations though!

The Patronus Producing Lesson with Dumbledore's Army. I LOVED that scene it was perfect.

Voldemort possessing Harry, It was really good even if the rest of the ministry scene wasn't quite up to par.

Over all it was a great movie!

ETA

I forgot to say, although I always liked Luna, the actress made me LOVE her! She did a fantastic job!!!

LOOOOOOOVED IT!!

For once, I left the theater very happy and satisfied! My biggest beef with the previous movies was with the actors not showing enough/appropriate emotion. They NAILED it this time!!

I agree though, Sirius' death scene was too quick and a little unclear. But the silence during Harry's raw emotion was perfect. way to go

I LOVED LUNA!!

The director did a great job of making this into a movie and cutting/keeping/adding things.

I also LOVED the beginning and the end. OMD. cloud 9

I was a little disappointed that they did not tell the entire prophecy.

As far as the ministry scene, I thought it had the right amount of confusion to keep you on edge. I'm glad they did not incorporate the statues, because it would have been too fakey. I loved Tonks in the few spots where she was present. I also loved the memory flashbacks.

Yeah it was definetly the best so far!
I wished the statues came into it.. but It did work without them!

Harry's scream and emotion after Sirius's death was perfect. That picture was on the front page of my city's paper yesterday!

I thought that Tonks should have had a bigger role!


The trio did really connect more with this one, The scene where they talk about the kiss and when they are laughing really stuck with me. everyone needs friends like those three!
