My snowshoe is the most outgoing, friendly, and talkative cat I've ever seen. If you sit down he jumps into your lap and rubs his head into your hand. He runs around the house chattering the whole time and even chirps when you say his name. He loves our other cats and snuggles with them and cleans them, too. He's my best friend and I have vowed to myself that I will never live without a snowshoe.

I like to be picked up and held for a few minutes when Meowma gets home from work, but then I need to be put down...I really like it when I can get her to lay down on the floor when she gets here so I can strut around and give head butts. I don't sit on laps, but am velcro-ed onto Meowma most of the time, as I'm afraid she will be lonely if I leave the room! I do talk sometimes, mostly to get a kitty treat, or to let the human know i'm getting on the bed; she's big and might squash me if I don't speak up! I actually like most people, as long as they understand I'd rather be talked to than held.
Also, everyone has to be careful how they pet me, but it's because I have the "Siamese Disease" that I forget the name of; anyway it makes me hypersensitive to being stroked down the middle of my back too much. Sometimes I can't be petted at all due to this cry but I still love to be around people. I also like to sing along with the stove timer.

Chloe just joined the group! She is very vocal, chirps at birds or anything she cannot get at, loves to watch water from the faucet and will even walk in the shower while mommy is in there, not directly in the stream but just a spritz, she loves to be brushed and begs for it, she is very good with routines - very smart, comes when you call her, greets me when I get home, she waits at the door, being picked up is not her favorite thing, there is a 10 second rule, she does love to cuddle though at sleepy time, has to be near me at all times - right now she is laying on the desk. I think Snowshoe mixes are the best cats really! Ok, besides my Orange Tabby. wink
One thing though is she is shy around strangers...I think it is because we live alone? She loves when my dad comes over and he is allergic to her but she doesn't care.
Anyone ever here of people not being allergic to cats but to Siames mix cats only?

I am a very complex kitty. I like to be held and cuddle but when it's my idea, although I usually don't turn down a good scratch or pet. When I am trying to get someone's attention I meow at them but nothing really comes out. My foster mom says I'm a mime kitty. So if I'm trying to tell her something and she can't heard me I have to resort to jumping on her leg like those little dogs do. I am more loving when there are less cats around so I can't wait for a furever home of my own. I find everything fascinating, especially the laptop, the floor cleaner (it's like a vacuum) the paper shredder and anything else that happens to make noise. I follow my meowmy around when she is trying to clean the floor, oh yes and I like the hand vac too. I do prefer my foster dad and like to lay on him more. Although at bedtime I will make biscuits on meomy then on dad and back and forth I go until I find the perfect spot to lay in. I am super smart and I have learned to walk on the harness, which I love to do, and I can sit and open cabinets. Among other mischievous misdoings.

I treat my cat the way I would want to be treated.
She is allowed the freedom to explore our cul de sac, get up at six AM for the morning walk around, then come back for morning brushes and sleep until three PM. She can come in and out all day long util ten PM when I call " Jessie " out the front door and she comes running down the drive into the house, down to the bedroom, up on her cat tree for evening brushes. She is shy of strangers in the house. She loves me, but only tolerates my wife.
She never hurts our dog Phoebe, even when she could. I know she is at risk out in the world but so am I and so are you. She loves to comment on everthing that going on or not going on to her satifaction. You know, you've got a Snowshoe.

Jimmy

Sir Newton Jr.

Jimmy is very gentle and great with other cats and dogs. His nickname is Sir Isaac Newton Jr. as he loves testing the theory of gravity at every chance. He will push things off the counters, desks, whatever is high enough to cause a clatter when something crashes to the ground. He does this, along with opening doors and drawers, when he wants to eat or is just bored. Just this morning he carried in his mouth a couple of small toys and dropped them at my feet. Another way of his telling me he was hungry. Smart boy. He can be vocal when he wants attention, either from me or his feline brothers. He was standoffish at first, but now loves cuddling with me on the couch. If I'm laying down he will either lay on me if I'm on my back, or will lay on the arm or back of the couch. He's now also laying his butt on my head which shows his sense of humor. I sometimes think I have 3 dogs instead of 2 as he follows me around the house. He is a total sweetheart.

The only bad habit he has is his obsession about eating plastic. I've had to plastic-proof the house.

In our house the Snowshoes are mostly the same! There are 5 of us right now, another one coming in as one just left [mom does fostering]. She like Snowshoes SOO much because of their very smart ways, and spicey personalities. We are very matter of factly. And we KNOW what we want and will go after it whether it is affection we want, food we crave or rough playtime! Not too demanding in general, but if it is affection we want, we are right in your face or to be more precise, right on your computer mouse or keyboard!!!
We gots personality!!!!

i like to be held and petted by my mommy alot, i let dad pick me up sometimes but only for a few minutes. i am very gentle with girls and kids but i can be rough with males sometimes but i am just playing. i rarely bite or scratch but i love to paw at people and nibble playfully! i LOVE to eat, i am a big muscular snowshoe and only 7 months! i love to play with soft toys that i can carry in my mouth, i love socks and shoes. i am VERY curious and HAVE to check out EVERYTHING mommy and daddy bring into the house, i love to play in grocery bags and i like crumbled papers! i put my paws up on my mommy and daddys legs all the time and run away, its my way of saying HEY, PET ME.

Hello, I am Bucky. I am just so thankful to have a nice home after being out alone w/o a home for some time, I don't know how long. My new human parents are great. I also have a human grandma who comes over to visit and just loves me so much, I think I have become her favorite cat, but I probably should not tell the others. I basically get along with sisters Amber and Sandi, but not so much with Autumn, "The old lady" and new brother Baxter, who is a Russian Blue, he seems to be jealous of me and resents me. I am not very vocal unless I want to go outside in my cat stroller. Nice to meet other Shoeshoes.
