My boyfriend is allergic to our kitty of 1 year. His allergy recently got worse so the doctor suggested that we need to keep our cat OUT of our bedroom and obviously bed. The problem is, we've always let her roam free in our small condo and she frequently sleeps/plays on our bed/bedroom. It's going to be really hard to keep her out as she'll probably meow and claw at the door. But to keep her we really have to keep her away from the bedroom. Is there a way to transition her to stay out of the bedroom without hurting her emotionally?

Here's a recent Catster article on keeping cats out of the bedroom: http://www.catster.com/lifestyle/cat-behavior-problems-bedroom-sleeping-boyfriend Your cat won't like it at first and those pitiful cries and meows makes you feel guilty, but don't give in. Your cat will eventually accept the new "no bedroom" rule.
