 | | | | It was so hard letting go of my dear Charlie last month, I had owned him since I was 5 and he was my best buddy. He would wake me every morning and go to sleep every night on my lap purring, he was a lovely cat, he loved to cuddle as I read or watched TV and even in between me and my girlfriend when she moved in. When I had to let go I was devastated, I hadn't cried that much since my grandfather (another self proclaimed "cat guy") passed on. But I know he died peacefully, calm, content in my arms. I loved him dearly and soothed him as he took his last breaths.
My deepest sympathy goes out to you as I know exactly how you feel at this horrible time. But you may find solace in the fact that Soc is now out of pain and is watching down from the rainbow bridge now, purring and remembering the good times. Maybe talk to other family members who are also grieving, and maybe do what I did and open your home to another kitty or two. Shelters are full of kittens abandoned or abused all in need of a good home, and yours sounds perfect! Of course not as a replacement, just to help you recover.
I'm always just a message away if you ever need to talk
Love from Charlie and Adam
xx
