I'm glad I'm not imagining things. Been think for a long time things just aren't the same.

I must admit we haven't been around as much. I don't think it is FB causing the problem either. The economy has lots of humans stressed and that in turn can cause them to do less fun things even if it's free!

I just think we need to meow about it and get it out in the open and see if we can perk things up a bit. We think that it's good to play on these sites when times are hard bc it is a nice escape you know? dancing And we animals bring so much joy to our humans I think we deserves our own site. FB is drawing lots of the humans away from here and we don't purrsonally find it fun there at all. We keep posting in our groups and trying to keep things upbeat. shrug hamster dance We've gotten FB invites from pawrents on here and then we don't see them on here much anymore and all of Mommy's friends seem to be on there all the time so we were just thinking that was a large part of it.

Yes. I think the economy is having an impact.

Some have had to downgrade to dialup and that is so slow. Some had to get rid of the internet all together. Others have lost their homes, so no internet.

In about 90% to 92% of the groups our family is in have had no activity in about a year, and even the group admins (who are still somewhat active on catster) have not cast a shadow in their own groups over a year. Absent admins do have an impact on group members not coming to a group anymore or leaving the group.

Can Catster hold more competitions for various things. So cats can win Zealies or maybe Catster plus for a yearshrug just a thought. With money being tight and all, I thought it might keep the interest upthinking

I have a lot of catster moms as my facebook friends. There are things I like better about facebook but I really love catster. It would be cool if you could make photo comments and stuff. Mom likes commenting on all of her pals. I also wish we could have more photo albums here.
Mom has 43 albums on FB and about 32 of them are of us MOL

Mom hardly ever gets messages from her pals anymore either.
Another thing mom really hates is how you can give out mass zealies at one time that all say the same thing. Its not a personal and not as exciting. I mean we are still thankful that we are included but it means so much more when a cat goes right to your page and says something meant just for you.

Well thats it for now I guess.

We notice that it is quieter on Catster too. Mommie is on Facebook quite a bit, but she tries to give us our time on Catster too. I agree that maybe some kind of contest or quizzes where you can win Zealies or Catster plus would be fun and maybe would bring more cats on Catster. Or maybe occasionally having a free rosie? (FB has apps that you can send your friends without it costing anything. I don't suggest we do that all the time, but maybe having a free rosie for like one week a month or something like that?)

More competitions with prizes is a great idea -- I know I'd like it. big grin The free apps feature on FB is a very popular but personally I wouldn't like it on Catster. Downloading all those apps to give and receive gifts is not only irritating, it's also not safe for our computers. Having free rosies is a terrific idea! In these difficult economic times many families can't afford zealies. They'd be able to give gifts and wouldn't feel left out.

Having space for extra photo albums is at the top of my list! I'd love to leave comments on photos and graphics on kitties' pages but would like it best if it's set up like the diary comments feature so comments don't clutter up our pages. I often see things on our friends' pages I'd like to comment on but hesitate to send a pawmail saying *I love your new photo-- have a great day!* (although maybe I should laugh out loud)

Don't know how difficult it would be to add these features or whether it's do-able at all but would like HQ to consider them.

Mittens I totally agree that the comments shouldn't clutter up our pages. Maybe just below the picture it could say 3 comments and you could click on that to see them.

I know there are many pictures I would like to comment on too.

Free Rosettes would be awesome too : ) I think it would make a lot of new kitties who dont have catster plus a lot more interested in staying active on catster.

I agree that things have gotten much more quiet on Catster in the last year. Out of all of my groups I have two that are reasonably active.

I think the economy is one reason. Facebook is another, perhaps because the humans can talk for themselves rather than for us kitties? But my mom is also trying to finish graduate school and has been pretty much slammed with that.

We are on here and Facebook quite often, and we enjoy both. Mom loves catching up with her college friends smile

We've noticed and have been saying this for months. I DO think both FB and the economy have taken its toll. It just seems like when we log on we find that cats have passed away, so it just seems sad to us.

We're on FB too, but it's stupid. I went mainly b/c many catster moms went there. But now it's gotten really interesting b/c we learn all kinds of interesting things about others, like what kind of toilet paper they like. big laugh Seriously, for us it's a time suck.

I found out one Catster friend had her cats deleted by someone and that sort of animosity scares us. I guess when you get to know some PEOPLE too well, you wish you only knew the cats...
