Chicago area: School Bus Crashes into Animal Shelter

A bus crashed into the Wright-Way Rescue animal shelter in Niles, IL, this afternoon causing extensive damage to the building. No one was hurt, but the animals had to be evacuated and the building may have to be demolished.

Update: 75 dogs rescued from kill shelters in downstate Illinois are scheduled to arrive at Wright-Way this Friday. With no shelter to house them, Wright-Way will be holding a special adoption event this weekend to try to find them all homes.

The event will be located in a tent at the Wright-Way Rescue Adoption Center parking lot at 7136 W Touhy Ave in Niles, IL. They will be holding adoptions this weekend during the following times:

Friday, October 4th from 3:00-8:00
Saturday, October 5th from 11:00-5:00
Sunday, October 6th from 11:00-5:00

If you are wanting to adopt this weekend, please wait to fill out an application before the adoption event (available online here). Animals up for adoption are on Wright Way's Facebook page in an album. Anyone is invited to come and support the event and staff!
