Diabetes is a manageable condition, and you're right Neva, low carb wet diets can help diabetic kitties a lot -- many end up even going into remission with insulin and proper diet. I have a diabetic boy and it doesn't take that much to inject insulin and test BG levels daily. And with a diabetic kitty you develop a closeness with the daily care. FelineDiabetes.com is a great site with a super helpful message board if anyone is interested. There are a lot of resources available. He is absolutely gorgeous and very sweet. Unfortunately no one wants to deal with giving him insulin shots since he has diabetes but perhaps a change in diet could help to cut down on the insulin or help him wean off of it all together (I believe he is on Authority wet and dry food). I would love to take him but have 2 cats already and my husband has put his foot down. If anyone thinks they can give him a good home please check out his link on petfinder:
