Where to get ground meat?

Kitties are currently being switched from 50% dry Wellness Core/50% grain-free wet food over to 50% grain-free wet/50% Nature's Variety raw food medallions. Since the NV is quite expensive I'm looking at using the TC premix to make my own raw food and get them on that 100%. My kitties are currently picky and don't like chunks in their food so I'd have to start them out on ground meat.

I don't want to buy pre-ground meat but don't have a grinder at home. If I go to a butcher shop would they grind some meat for me? I don't have a lot of freezer space so I can't buy in bulk and stock up on online ordered meat. Just looking for info. on what others have done. Sorry if this seems like common sense but I'm a vegetarian.

Grocery store is fine, it's rare that something happens to grocery store meat. It's more often that something happens to cat food

Good to know! I assume then that the Tyson chicken livers package (plastic container) are fine to use for the TC premix also?

Grocery store meat is fine, as is butcher meat, but does the TC have bone? I don't know if a butcher would grind meat with bone for you.

Yes, you can use the grocery store livers. When I used to use the TC premix, I used 1/2 ground dark meat turkey and 1/2 chunked chicken and I never had a problem with it. I'm sure that a butcher shop would be happy to grind up a fresh batch of meat for you.

In adding to Shades' comment, a butcher would be more than happy to grind away for you.

Personally, my lot refuses to even consider grocery store packaged pre-ground meat. I know in the poulty meat, it's the anti-spoiling additive they abhor and, well, they don't like anything else but chicken thighs.
