I feel better- eating & playing- again!

I've been eating Nature's Variety Raw and pinky mouses the past week or so. Mom tried to get me to eat venison, but I wouldn't unless she mixed it into rabbit.

I ate a bowl of rabbit and venison overnight, but now it's 2 pm and I haven't eaten yet today. Mom put a new bowl of rabbit/venison in my room about 3 hours ago, and it was untouched, so she picked up a piece and showed it to me. I gagged!!!

Is this because it had been sitting out for 3 hours? Charlie my brother has no trouble eating raw that's been sitting out a while.

She then offered me a pinky mouse and I didn't want that either. So she'll just try to feed me later.

Don't feed raw that's been sitting out for three hours. That's quite unsanitary. Offer it- if she doesn't eat it, put it away.

Oh no, she just gagged again at fresh from the fridge raw that had just thawed out :-(

Before that she woke from a nap, walked to the litterbox, and threw up some clear liquid.

Then I offered her a pinky mouse and EVO canned, she walked away from both. Offered her water, she covered it up. I can understand that if she doesn't feel well, but now I'm really worried. I wonder if she has something or if she caught something that Charlie brought home from the vet :-(

Aura, I love Nature's Variety chicken and rabbit, but I refuse to eat beef or venison. I have tried a few tiny bites a couple times, and each time I gagged and vomited within a minute or two even though there was less than a teaspoon in my tummy.

Well, I offered her some plain rabbit and she gagged at that too. The good news is she is playing. The bad news is she hasn't eaten all day :-( I'm worried. I even panicked and went out and bought baby food and fancy feast. She had a little of both.

Poor baby! It sounds like you have an upset tummy. What makes things even worse is that you don't feel like eating, but when you don't eat it makes your tummy even more upset!

Just keep trying to give her small amounts of baby food or the canned every few hours. Warm it up a bit if it has been in the fridge so a big cold glob doesn't hit her tummy. And if she has been vomiting it definitely wouldn't hurt to offer some nice warm baby food soup.

You make it sound like it's no big deal, have you had experience with this before? I wonder what caused it :-(

She didn't eat much tonight, but I did keep trying to offer her things, and her gagging stopped. After she became more playful, she ate another pinky mouse. She still isn't eating the NV raw she usually loves!!

She did a nice big poopie so I hope that helped too.

My guys throw up unpredictably. With five of them, I probably clean up one pile a week. So upset tums don't bother me except from a sense of compassion. frown Sometimes the piles have food in them, sometimes not, sometimes it's hair - you won't know the cause of a run-of-the-mill upset.

I would be concerned if she went 24 hours without food. But there are days when someone won't eat very much or will skip a meal, and that's ok. If she's eating now and acting normally, just keep an eye on her.

I went and bought the NV canned she ate for a while, and she acted like I was poisoning her. So I offered her 2 pinkies and she ate them both. No idea how many pinkies she should have in a day, I'm guessing quite a few, like 10??? She only weighs 2 pounds (I'm guessing).

She has a vet appt on Friday which was set before this happened, to get her her first shot. If she isn't doing better by then it might not be a shot appt. She is acting find today, but this not eating thing is driving me crazy. I've never force fed before, wonder if I should.
