My cat doesn't like raw anymore

Oscar took at 180 degree turn for the better 3 months ago when he started on raw. He ran to his bowl at feeding time for the first time ever (and he's 13, so forever is a long time). His hair that had been thin and sparse for 4 years grew back completely full, fluffy and soft again. He used to smell the dogs food (still on canned and kibble with grains) and turn up his nose waiting for his raw.
But now for the past week he's been on a hunger strike. He tries to eat the dog food and claws to get into the dog food bag. He wont eat his raw until he realizes his cries are getting him nowhere, and he stopped eating enough that he needs in a day.
So today I went out and got him some grain free kibble and grain free canned. I plopped them down in front of him to see what he was trying to tell me. He went back and forth between the both of them as if I'd been starving him for a month!!!
What is it that he isn't getting from raw, does anyone know???
I hate to get his brother, who just recently forgot about the joys of kibble, hooked on it again....so I fed Oscar seperately, but it isn't very convenient. I guess if it's grain free kibble it won't be THAT bad.
If I have to, I will rotate between raw, kibble, and canned like Nature's Variety says to. But I'm scared that they will never eat the raw again and Oscar will take a turn for the worse. Any insight here?
PS I gave oscar 1/2 can and a small handful of kibble and he's still casing the house looking for more
Oh gosh, I have totally no advise for you but I just wanted to tell you I FEEL for you!
I was on my way to getting to the Doors of Raw (lol), had given all but 1 emergency bag of dry away, when all of a sudden, Hunger Strike. Then Constipation.
On advice from rawfed, I've gone back to feeding dry and wet. And man almighty, when I put that dry down, was there a major feast. But the kitties have to eat, and you'll need to give whatever they will eat.
Hopefully someone with raw knowledge can give you some good advice, but anyway, I just wanted to give you shoulder!
I was switching up the flavors about twice a week. That wasn't helping. They were getting a rotation of chicken, beef, rabbit, and venison. Sometimes with freeze dried mixed in, sometimes not.
I wonder if there are other "rotators" around here who rotate between raw, canned, and kibble or just raw and canned? Maybe after a couple weeks on canned they will like the change back to some raw for a while, that is my hope!!!! (I don't know if you are supposed to rotate daily, weekly, or just let the kitty decide.)
I broke down and gave Oscar's brother canned to for simplicity's sake. I hope I didn't make a mistake :-(
Oscar is just going through typical cat behavior.
May 9th: "Ooooo I LOVE chicken!!"
May 10th: "Mama, chicken is disgusting! Why would you ever THINK of trying to feed it to me?! I want pork!"
May 11th: "Yum Pork!"
May 12th: Pork is horrible! Get it away!! I want chicken!! And that is the ONLY thing I will eat!"
This is just typical cat! Try to keep as many options available as possible. Our Moe is still that way!
Aaaargh, now I'm upset. The reason I switched Oscar to raw in the first place was because of recurrent diarrhea. He loved it, and the diarrhea (and going outside the litterbox) stopped immediately.
Now tonight his stools are soft again and he's gone outside his box again. Tomorrow morning he's getting raw in his bowl and nothing else. Grrrrr.
Ha. I just plopped some raw down in front of him and he acted uninterested until I fed some with my fingers, then he ate it and then ate it from the bowl, too.
I'll mix wellness into it if I have to but he WILL be getting raw, the little manipulator
