Hi, this is my first post btw wave

Anyway, i recently acquired 2 kittens to take care of me laugh out loud, they are a product of american shorthair (mom) and persian (dad). - pictures on my gallery.

Upon doing research, I found out that mixing these two breeds will result in exotic shorthairs. However upon comparing pictures (see my gallery) of exotic shorthairs and to my kittens, I don't see any similarities. They both look like their shorthair mom.

Is it still correct to classify them still as exotic shorthairs?

Actually an Exotic is a shorthaired Persian, period. And these days , they are produced by mating 2 exotics. So no, your guys are just Domestic Shorthairs (Even if the Mom is a registered American Shrthair and the dad a registered Persian!) They are awfully cute though--love the expressions!

Thanks for the explanation Pandora, at least now I know now what to answer if my friends asks on what breed they are. Pity, I thought that they will be somewhat be like their mom or dad thinking

They are indeed cute and sweet, though I notice that they are play fighting a lot now.. since both are females so I guess they are fighting for which one is the dominant one.
