Kaya: Jadyn looks like a Domestic Shorthair too. DSH's can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and a cat doesn't need to be a Siamese to be vocal! My sister Gabi and I never shut up - MOL! And our predecessor, Sable, was also very talkative.

helene-iris:
don't really care what jadyn looks like to you, i obviously can see and otherwise observe things that can't be conveyed through a picture-and she IS a DSH. she just happens to be a DSH with identifiable siamese ancestry-or do you know another breed that combines crossed eyes and a kinked tail with siamese body type and behavioral characteristics?
look. i myself am 1/4 echota cherokee. i don't typically think a lot about that these days-but i DO know it gives me a higher risk of diabetes, depression (which i do have) and alcoholism-which i don't have, but i do have poor tolerance for alcohol.
yes, there are people from other races who are diabetic, alcoholic, and have depression. nevertheless, it is good for me to know that i DEFINITELY have certain increased risk factors.
likewise, while there are cats who are chatty who do NOT have siamese ancestry, i happen to be quite sure that jadyn's momcat has siamese pretty strong in her family tree-again, kinked tail, crossed eyes, body type, behavior. therefore, i feel pretty safe in saying the applehead just isn't falling too far from the tree.
in short, me here, you there.
also...why argue with me about it?shrug

um...actually, i didn't? huh?

OH. helene-iris, when i was referring to the combination of small, angular head and amazing ears, i was talking about DEXTER, the OP-or original poster, the reason we are all gathered together in this particular thread. though i see how you got there, jadyn sort of does have an angular head and outsized ears-but she's still just a kitten, and i reserve my judgment on guessing breed based on out-of-proportion ears until kitty is grown. they all go through stages where they need to grow into their ears.
dexter, however? he just about has bunny ears. what kind of reception does he get on those things?

a bengal mix is unlikely, only because any breeder I have ever found makes you sign a contract to get them fixed OR pay $3000 to buy as a breeder. However they aren't going to sell a breeder to just anyone either. They are going to be very careful about there selection and who the cat goes home to, to assure that the line does not get mixed with domestic cats. Bengals are FROM wild blood. But are not wild...unless of course they are of the first generations. But in that case the males are sterile. Every bengal I've ever met that was not at a breeders home, was fixed.

ETA: I would like to add, that egyptian Mau may be a possibility. I personally do not see bengal, but the head shape reminds me of an egyptian mau.

does dexter have any spots? or an extra flap of skin in front of his back legs? if so, you could be looking at egyptian mau blood-which yes, thanks sabre, could account for the facial shape. (dexter's meowmy: go to an egyptian mau site and check?)

He looks like one of my parent's cats, who is Oriental Shorthair mix. The big ears and pointed face give it away. And funnily enough, his colorings are almost the same.
