GO!

My Gracie has Low-Grade Lymphoma

This is a special place for cats to share their love and support for each other during difficult times; it's a place to light candles, give a "get well purr" and let everyfur know they are never ever alone.

Cancer SUCKS!!

Sadly, my Gracie was recently diagnosed with low-grade Lymphoma (cancer in her small intestines). She'll soon be put on an oral chemotherapy treatment of Prednisone and one other medication still to be determined by the vet. Any advice from cat owners with similar experience is greatly appreciated!

It was a fluke that they found it--she'd had surgery to remove a built-up hairball in her tummy and they did biopsies of her stomach, liver, and intestine (as a matter of routine) while they had her on the operating table.

From what it sounds like, this is not a death sentence and I should still have her with me for several years (crossing fingers!)kitty

Hi Gracie,
You are lucky it was caught! I've never given thanks for a hairball before! Putting you on the get well purr list, Catsters in Need of Serious Purring thread.
You may want to post in the Health Forum too, but I think with your diary you'll get responses to your questions. There are quite a few cats on the get well purr list with cancer, maybe a resource for you.
purring,

Hi Gracie wave

So sorry you have lymphoma and it is lucky it was caught at such an early stage. I also have intestinal lymphoma and am on chemo. Intestinal lymphoma usually responds very well to chemo.

You may want to join our Feline Lymphoma group and I sent you an invite.

Purring for you!

You are lucky they caught it early. I just found out I have intestinal cancer too; however, the biopsy results are not in yet, so I don't know much yet. The vet did tell mommy it didn't look good.

I'll be purring like mad for you and hope your treatments go well. It seems like I've heard of so many cats who have this now. It's so sad.

I'll follow along and see how you do because I'd love to hear of a kitty who is doing well.

Purrs.....Jack
