 | | | | I need some expert advice. Owners, breeders, vets, anyone.
I brought my little Juli (blue point Himalayan kitten, runt) home on Sunday, August 20. Right away she was snorting, sneezing, running at the nose and eyes. At first, I figured it was due just to her breed. But on the day she started sleeping alot more than she had been, I called the vet and insisted on her being seen. He said she had a bacterial respiratory infection, secondary to a viral infection. He gave her an oral antibiotic. This was on that following Friday. Within a couple of doses, she was much perkier, and better symptomatically. We continued this for five days - until she started having loose stools. The vet said it was OK to stop the antibiotic.
Tonight, when I came home from a social function, Juli seemed less active than usual. The light seemed to bother her. Her eyes were tearing, and greenish yellow snot was coming out of one nostril. I still have the antibiotic, so I finally dosed her and put her to bed with the lights out.
I am getting worried about her. She is so small. She only weighed 1.00 pounds at age 2½ months on that vet visit. What do you all think I should do next? See the vet again? What kind of care should I insist upon? What does Juli need next? Is her life in danger? Please help. Please answer. I am so worried about her.
Thanks.
