Master of- Disaster!

So I'm thinking of adding a few new varieties of wet food for Hunter. I saw on Alex's website, the Wellness pouches. I've never bought them before. However, Hunter did have problems with the canned wellness when he was a kitten. Since then, I haven't bought any wellness product. Has anyone bought these? What do you think of them? Has your cat had any issues? I just want to get some opinions before I go out and buy some.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Hunty! mom bought them for Finney and Lacey but they don't care for Wellness at all so that was a bust. But they did eat a little and didn't have any issues. I think a couple of people from our newsletter feed them without any problems. It's certainly worth a try. big grin

My cats thoroughly enjoy the gravy in the pouches -- no issues. If you are wary about Wellness (and understandably so), something similar would be Soulistic canned or pouches. They cost less, and they are shreds and gravy.

Zoey and I love all the Wellness products. Mom has the pouches in our Earthquake Emergency kit. But on a regular basis we eat the regular canned turkey and chicken. The canned food is easier for us to split for our small meals.

Mom likes to check this site to see the percentages of Phos, protein, sodium, and fat to choose foods for us. Some pouch foods in certain flavors might be higher in sodium that is why we don't eat them in our daily diet. She likes to keep the phos and sodium at medium levels, not going too high. We have no health issues but she is trying to keep it that way. She finds it interesting to compare the foods just like with human foods.

Wow Zack, that is a great site, thanks! I bought Hunter 2 of the pouches. However, I have to hide them. If I don't he'll chew the bag open and help himself. Sneaky boy...

laugh out loud

Zoey and I love both the little chunks of meat and the gravy. YUM!

Mommy was looking over the chart and these Wellness pouches seem fine % wise. It was the Wellness cubed, minced etc in the can that was very high in sodium and even though we were only eating a 1/4 of a small can a day, Mommy decided not to feed us those anymore. Because there are other choices.

She remembers stopping the pouches because they were too hard to divide for us. But most cats don't have to do that. Also Mommy did figure out how many calories in each piece of meat and would divide it by pieces for us. MOL!!! Because Zoey is so little she has to watch her calories even though she is very active.

Mommy has that site bookmarked and looks at it whenever checking out a different food. Very helpful.

I recently lost my Casper & this was his most favorite wet food, he was very picky & it took me a while & a lot of different kinds of chunky food before I found one he would eat besides his dry food. Never had any problems with him eating it actually just the opposite he would beg for it. Just adopted a new kitty, Canon & he & my other kitty Camo both love the pouches also, good thing too cause I bought a few cases of it before I knew Casper was ill.

Hunter I think that is quite common for the cats to like the gravy more than the chunks. Mom was surprised we ate up both but we like pretty much anything. Good your Mom only bought 2 pouches instead of a case!
