Just went to the pet store to pick up some new food for mittens. I usually give her FF (not the best I know) and traders Joes. trying to do the best I could because my husband has been laid off and our budget was pretty slim. but now he is working again and really would like to get some good quality grain free food. she is about 5 months now and is getting bigger so I want to make sure she is healthy. EVO brand was on sale for 1.40 and I was comparing it to other grain free high protein and t seemed pretty reasonable. I hear allot about wilderness and wellness on here though. s there any other recommendations on good caned food that is reasonable? He is working again which is great but we even still are not rolling in it lol so budget friendly high quality is what im going for. TIAwishes

EVO is a good food way to go There's the regular cat/kitten one and the 95% meat ones smile http://www.naturapet.com/brands/evo

Here's a list of good grain-free brands: http://www.catster.com/forums/Food_and_Nutrition/thread/774137

Any brand that you can afford is good way to go You don't need to feed a top of the line expensive brand.

thanks!

but unfortunately, he does not seem to impressed thus far frown however, her eating habit's do tend to change often, sometimes she is scarfing down food and then later she barely will touch the same kind. i would assume its her just being a kitten and going through changes? so were gonna keep trying it and hope it works out. does anyone have a recommendation on a good dry food also? i like to always keep food out and she will likes verity also.

I wouldn't try too much variety in food. It makes some cate really really picky shrug Stick with one or two brands.

Dry food - well, many people here feel strongly against feeding it silenced You can read Catifno.org for the reasons why dry food is not good.

Canned food can be left out all day. A programmable timed feeder works great way to go

Or consider freeze dried raw food instead of regular dry food. Freeze dried raw is healthier than dry food and just as crunchy. Stella and Chewy's is one good brand. Nature's Variety Instinct just reformaulated their freeze dried raw foods so that they are 100% complete diets.

If you want regualr dry food, choose a brand that is grain-free and lists meat as the first ingredient. Nature's Variety Instinct is a good brand smile Wellness Core is another one. I suggest limiting the dry food to no more than 1/4 cup left out during the day.

Hello! Me and my BF buy Wellness 24 12.5 oz cans on Amazon for $27.58 with free two day shipping. The food has come in tact with no signs of ware and tare and the food is not spoiled. I always buy my stuff on amazon because it's fairly cheap, so you should look at it! =)
