Hi everyone. We took Rodney for his vet checkup. His infection is gone...hurray!!! No More medication.
The vet says he is still too tiny to neuter and needs to gain some weight. They gave us their brand of wet food to suppliment...Medi-Cal +Protein. I don't like it and neither does Rodney. We tried Wellness wet but he didn't like that, and we tried NOW Grain Free Wet...the same brand as his food...and he isn't big on that either.
He likes Merrick Wet but the Pet Store only carries the dog varieties. Can anyone recommend a wet food?
I am ok with ordering it online as that is how I get their Merrick Wet. I was just hoping for something a little different as Merrick is used as a treat once a week.
I was thinking Eagle Pack or Natural Balance? Any Suggestions?

Congrats Rodney, glad you are feeling better. Sometimes it just takes some careful experimentation with a handful of various brands to find one that suits your cat's palette and digestive system, and your needs as a consumer...I know that's vague, but as long as you stay away from the ground corn and meat by products you should be ok. Good luck!

Hi Rodney, how about the Evo line of wet foods? or Natural balance though we only think the Chicken and liver one is good. Have you thought about Natures Variety? they have raw medallions as well.

Hmmm. I will definitely look into EVO. It's high protein so that would help him gain weight. Nature's Variety? I have honestly never heard about it. Is it a good brand?
What are the ingredients?

We love the EVO Cat & Kitten (turkey & chicken formula is the only flavor) and that has a lot of protein (min. 12%) for growing kittens. We also really like the Nature's Variety Instincts; I think that is what Shadow was referring to (naturesvariety.com). The Instincts comes in a variety of flavors and the one's I have are all min. 9% protein. The price of Instincts depends on what flavor you are buying.

Ok so I got my cans of Evo. The Natures variety hasn't come yet.
Rodney seems to really like the Evo. He gobbled it up right away which is odd because he usually only eats half of what we give him.
My only concern is that the food looked kind of red. Is it supposed to be that way? I ordered 3 smaller cans and they were the same.

It is likely fine. Which flavor are you feeding?

I got 3 small beef cans and 3 small duck cans.
He likes the duck best.
It's the beef though that was reddish in colour.
