Hobie has allergies, asthma, and an oversensitive immune system, whew! We rotate his food to help with any potential allergies. We rotate between Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, California Natural, and Innova. Generally we go with grain free and limited ingredients if possible. So far so good! Also helps kitties not be so finicky. No matter how finicky your cat is, I've never come across one that will purposefully starve itself!

What I do is I, keep the same dry food all the time, but feed a variety of different canned brands. For example, monday would be eagle pack holistic(dry) in the morning, in the evening, fancy feast elegant medleys, tuesday would be eagle pack in the moring, Wellness canned in the evening, wednsday would be eagle pack kibble in the morning and Pro plan selects canned in the evening, thursday, eagle pack in the morning and maybe some raw meat in the evening, and you basically get the idea.

it's kind of like how alot of people's breakfast is always the same for example, cereal and milk but dinner always varies.

Let me mix up the pot a bit.

I now have over 20 ferals/abandoned cats I care for. I do make my own rawfed. The chicken thigh recipe primarily from catnutrition.org. My cats tend to me like me and HATE change and that is what stops me (again) from any deviation.

I will gladly make them ANYTHING they will eat. But believe it or not, chicken always wins out. I have tried fish, turkey, pork and beef. But they only sniff at it. Chicken thighs are always a winner. (Smart cats...)

Bottom line for me is if you cat eats it and it is nutritionally adequate/fine, leave it be. Let THEM make the choice, not you.
