I have recently begun researching new food options for my dogs as their current food has been discontinued and have decided to upgrade everybody. I have a 2-year-old cat that I am going to try on Wellness Healthy Weight. He could stand to lose a few, but he also has had problems with crystals in his bladder. Anyone with urinary tract issues had any problems with Wellness?

My second question is that my other cat is almost fourteen and is currently on a senior food. It took him a long time to switch just a few months ago when I decided to seperate the two cats. Should it be ok to switch him again, or should I leave him on the current food if he's doing ok? It isn't a bad food but I think it could be improved. I just don't want to stress him too much or anything.

First of all applause for doing your research! Wellness is a great food and I think the kitty with the bladder issues would do best on the canned food. Since wellness is an all life stages food, your senior could eat it.... but if you feel that it would be too stressful then you do whatever you feel is right. But I will add that better nutrition in the senior years will do more good than harm. wink

I've been torn between getting him on a better food and not wanting to stress him as his age is definitely starting to show. I think I might go ahead and try it, see how he does.

Thank you for your response!

You could always buy a good digestive enzyme and immune booster to help with the switch. Good luck! way to go
