Mom pays $15 for a 5lb bag of Felidae, which lasts the two of us a month.

Then she pays about $20 for 25 cans of Nutro and $10 for a 24-pack of Meow Mix Market Selects, which is a little over a month of food.

So she only pays around $45 a month for our food... not too bad.

We feed a home made raw diet and it costs me about $60 per month to feed 3 medium dogs and 6 cats.. Though, that's feeding mostly chicken and chicken organ..
Got lucky enough to find a cheap local source for chicken quarters and backs..

Right now the cats alone eat ... hmmm probably around $70 a month on food. Right now they are on Purina and i use coupons. I eventually want to put them on Nutro but things have been pretty hectic in my life right now. I have an 8 yr old dog who its on Nutro Natural Chocie and that's about $30 a bag. She hasn't been eating much dog food (she tries to get to the kitty food or kids scraps--and usualy succeeds) so i havent been going through that food so much. Plus she really needs to lose weight. Shop for deals. Petsmart usually at least once a month has sales and im sure Petco does too.

We have two kitties on Nutro (dry and canned) and spend $35.00 a month. Petsmart sells the 16lb bags of dry food for $17.00 and cans for 60 cents. Each kitty gets 1/4 a can and 1 cup of dry each day.

All of this talk has made Mommy realize that she really doesn't have a clue how much she spends on us... or on anything, for that matter. So, thank you for giving Mommy a huge project: seeing how much she spends and making a budget! That'll keep her firmly planted in the chair at the computer and available for lap sitting for days!!!!

2 cats - both eat Feline Caviar - where we buy it its $4.99 for 2.2 lbs and $24.99 for 25 lbs.

The 2.2 lb bag lasts about 2 weeks with 2 cats.

Lucky we found a store nearby that sells good food for such a good price.

(I get the largest bag of Canidae for my dog there for $35)

Mama's just settled on a dry for my three sisters. Purina Naturals
for about $20 for a 14 pound bag. She's never gotten the big bag
before so no idea how long it will last yet but she's guessing two to
three weeks.

I get canned Wellness turkey at about $38 every three weeks... still
trying to get the pattern down for that as I've only been on it for just
shy of two months.

So with litter, treats and toys... maybe $75-$100 a month for four
of us?

Angel eats Stella and Chewy's frozen raw food. I work at a pet store so I get a 20% discount. Not counting the discount, I spend about $42 on food and that will last us about a month and a half. We rotate between the chicken, beef and lamb varieties. She gets one patty in the morning and one for dinner. I actually spend less now than I did when she was free feeding on dry and getting one can a day.

I spend about $100/month on food only for two kitties. They get 1/4 C Wellness Core each in the AM and half a can (3 oz. each) of Nature's Variety or Natural Balance Wet food in the PM. I have to order the wet food online so it ends up averaging about $2/can when you factor in shipping. A bag of Wellness Core lasts about a month and costs me ~$22/bag.
