Adding a cat to a new lease

If you are wondering what is the right cat for you, this is the place to be. In this introductory forum we talk about topics such as breed vs. mix, size, age, grooming, breeders, shelters, rescues as well as requirements for exercise, space and care. No question is too silly here. This particular forum is for getting and giving helpful, nice advice. It is definitely not a forum for criticizing someone else's opinion, knowledge or advice. This forum is all about purring and learning.

When Mom signed the first lease she told the landlords we have one cat, so they put "one cat" in the lease. I asked her if she can talk them into adding another cat in the 12-month renewal. Has anyone else done this and succeeded?

I would think it depends on the landlord. Some only allow one cat. In my case, I am a longtime resident and when I moved in could have up to 3. If I were to transfer to another apartment within the complex, I would only be allowed one, so needless to say I stay where I am. wink
