In this introductory forum we talk about topics such as breed vs. mix, size, age, grooming, breeders, shelters, rescues as well as requirements for exercise, space and care. No question is too silly here. This particular forum is for getting and giving helpful, nice advice. It is definitely not a forum for criticizing someone else's opinion, knowledge or advice. Cats of unknown origin - i.e. strays, shelter rescues, ferals, etc - are "Domestic. A fancy word for a mix breed, or moggy. Cats aren't like dogs where breed plays a big role in looks or tempermanent. Domestics can have any coat color or length and a huge variety in temperament!

A shorthair domestic is called Domestic Shorthair, medium hairs are Domestic Medium Hairs, and long hairs are Domestic Longhairs.

Your color is called Brown Tabby.
