Isadora

Fur-Faced Friend- For Life

Purred: Tue Jun 2, '09 9:34pm PST
I love the look of Snowshoe or similarly colored cats. They are probably my favorite. But I have always wanted to meet a Havana Brown, a Russian Blue, an Ocicat, a Bengal, or a Turkish Angora.
(My daughters all fancy a white cat with blue eyes, so often featured in the animated movies they watch.)

I seem to have a knack for attaching myself to calicos, however.

Isadora is the fourth calico to bless my life with the joys of cat ownership.

Fan Tan

Hear me roar- (trill, mew,- meezer)

Purred: Fri Jun 5, '09 12:22pm PST
My last cat Peach was a beautiful rescued dilute orange shorthair tabby - I had him 11 years and have no idea how old he actually was. My dream cat was a flame point Siamese - and I found a litter days after Peach died. Peach didn't like other cats in the house and I always wanted a pair of sibling kittens. So I now have my dream cats, Fan Tan and Ting Ting, they are 3/4 Siamese and lovely temperament. At 3 months of age, they haven't destroyed a single thing in the house although climbing the drapes is starting to become interesting to them...

Kinako was, and still is, my dream kitty. That being said, bf and I are looking into adopting a Silver Spotted or Melanistic F2 Savannah, or a Chausie big grin I think Chausies are just sooo captivating, but Im having a hard time finding a reputable breeder who operates a website confused Aside from adopting Savannahs and Chausies I would love to become a hobby breeder and further my "dream breed" : Savannahs!

i had an all white female kitty as a young girl. so since then, my dream kitty was an all white kitty. when i found out when the kittens were born and there was an alll white kitten, i automatically told my friend to save me that one (she fosters unwanted litters) when i went to get my kitty, there was Peanut. the long hair black and white boy. i insantly fell in love with him, and forgot about the all white kitten. i guess peanut is my dream cat smile

kaya skye

weirdly, i have lucked into adopting three of my favorite "sorts" of cats...an orangie girl-my "first-born" of this clowder-kaya skye, then rhymon, who is predominately grey (a fave cat color for me) but with beautiful white markings and the most darling grey patch on her chin. she's my first longhaired cat-having just oodles of fun learning how to deal with that, gotta tell you. and newest, the only kitty from my latest rescue of momcat and 3 kittens that i'm keeping, little jadyn black-who has no page yet, because i haven't downloaded enough pics that i KNOW are of her and not her sibs yet. (they're all black kittens...laugh out loud )
i've always wanted an all-black kitty, and now...here she is. (i was going to keep momcat ayla and find all 3 kittens homes, as they are easier to rehome. however, ayla is...shall we say, territorial...and consistently lunges at my cats with claws bared when they have chanced to meet through a crack in the door or through accidental oopsies-didn't know rhymon was in this part of the house when i let ayla out to move around, kaya taught herself to open the door where ayla and her kittens are living, that sort of thing. yeah, i know, she has kittens still nursing, she's an outside cat...but i just can't take the turmoil, and it's not good for or safe for my resident cats. sorry. first-come have priority. shrug

interesting thing is that the cats i have a weakness for have found me, in three successive years. i too suspect some benign influence from beyond the Bridge all creatures must cross...little angellittle angellittle angel...still trying to sort out which of my former animal loves or even humans who have passed might have whispered what to which kitty. i see gracie mae's hand (paw?) in both rhymon & jadyn...circumstances of arrival...and i'm almost certain kaya is a gift from my blessed, blasted, aggravating, precious, devoted and demented devon paige. (those of you who know kaya...don't those adjectives sound familiar?big grin but kaya isn't hampered by devon's extreme anxiety...i think kaya is the kitty devon would have liked to have been, if she could have overcome her fears. and now i'm anthropomorphosizing (sp?) madly...but when you love well, some insights are achieved...either they're accurate or they're just useful...who knows?shrug )

but if i were to have a "wish-cat"...thinking an oriental, an egyptian mau or an affectionate tortoiseshell maine coon.

Hermes

I'm not a cat,- I'm satan!

Purred: Fri Jun 12, '09 12:04am PST
Personality wise, Hermes is my dream cat for the most part. I'd be very happy if he didn't howl so much but I guess that the Siamese ancestry coming out.

I personally have a thing for long haired cats. I would love to someday have a Ragdoll or a pure bred Maine Coon. The long haired "gentle giant" breeds are some of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen.

Namerovsky

From a- distinguished- line of tabby- cats

Purred: Mon Jul 6, '09 1:26pm PST
I love love love the applehead Siamese or Balinese and those types, and have a soft spot for Scottish Folds with cute little faces. I also love black cats.

But I don't think I'll ever have one. I'd feel too guilty over all the shelter cats left behind. When I went to get Namerovsky, there was an Oriental all black guy there too, who also was friendly and my second choice...and before going, I had in mind an elegant, girl, maybe long hair and probably black or a pretty calico...never in a million years would have imagined with a clown of a tabby-and-white guy...but he came up to me and loved me and followed me all around the shelter.

It was clear that he needed to come home with me...and he did, and I've felt so guilty about not taking his brother or the black Oriental too...but he's a great guy and I love him so much and as much as all those breeds are fascinating and beautiful...really, you get just as much love from a plain old mutt cat.

I think I already have my dream kitty, a Siamese/DSH mix. I've always wanted to rescue a 'wedge faced' Siamese close to Smeef's personality.

Gizmo

Purred: Mon Aug 17, '09 9:04am PST
I also have lucked into getting my dream kitties... more or less.

I didn't realize, of course, that persians are my dream cats until we got Gizmo, lol. We adopted him because we just had chemistry, but now that I've read up on the breed I feel like it's a good choice for us in our current situation (apartment). Don't think I'd ever get one from a breeder, though... it makes me sad that they have such a hard time breathing frown Poor babies.

I really did want a scottish fold--that's why we ended up with Gadget. She's not purebred, of course, but I think she's even prettier than the purebreds cloud 9 I've always wanted a gray kitty too.

I really love ragdolls and maincoons. However, by the time we get another cat we will have a house so I will be able to accommodate a more active cat. I'd love to get a bengal or a somali, but only if I could convince my partner to let me turn the house into a kitty jungle-gym big grin I guess my ideal breed is based on who would be a good match for my home.
