If you are wondering what is the right cat for you, this is the place to be. In this introductory forum we talk about topics such as breed vs. mix, size, age, grooming, breeders, shelters, rescues as well as requirements for exercise, space and care. No question is too silly here. This particular forum is for getting and giving helpful, nice advice. It is definitely not a forum for criticizing someone else's opinion, knowledge or advice. This forum is all about purring and learning.

the black dot at- the center of it- all

| Purred: Thu Apr 30, '09 2:59pm PST | | | | | | Well, Meowma has always been partial to the looks of round-head Siamese, dark red tabbies, really black blacks, and 'wild-colored' cats with spots. Mostly she favors the appearance of kitties with rounder to squishy faces too. Luckily for me, she didn't base her choice of adoptees on looks. I look jet black in photos, but am actually kind of rusty, and have a smoke undercoat that shows when I walk. But I could not be loved more! Meowma has entertained the idea of buying a Bengal, or a good red tabby British Shorthair but probably won't ever actually do it. | | | | |

Boris
I'm cute and I- know how to use- that :) |
| Purred: Fri May 1, '09 9:38pm PST | | | | | | I agree with Chloe... It's always nicer to just go with a kitty that needs you rather than some sort of ideal (besides, both of our cats were adopted from rescues, and they could not be more special or more loved)... But as long as I'd be rescuing another cat (if ever, the husband has declared we are a 2 cat household and should remain such ), I would not mind giving a home to a siamese mix. I think that most siamese mixes actually look a lot more personable than the breed standards call for.
(plus Boris is some sort of mutant DSH who has an oriental cat body and temperament, and we love how talky he is )

-iTs aLl AbOuT- ME!!!- |
| Purred: Sat May 2, '09 11:53am PST | | | | | | I adore all cats , though I hyave 2 dream kitties. I have always adored flame point siamese , they are gorgeous and hopefully one day I'll get to have one. My other dream kitty , is rather harder to get than a siamese , a savannah. An F2 or 3 probably. Their wild look just captivates me and their purrsonailty is fantastic. What I would really love is not only a savannah , but a silver spotted one , which is not as common as th normal one which looks like a serval. But all kitties , especially strays that need your help are wonderfull. | | | | |

Wooly cat!
|
| Purred: Sun May 3, '09 11:20pm PST | | | | | | Before I adopted Alaidh, I had my heart set on a big longhaired tabby cat - Maine Coon like - but the second I saw Alaidh, I fell in love. Of course, when I saw Sammie up for adoption - a longhaired brown tabby - I really wanted her, too, even though I was living at home with my parents and they'd only said I could have one cat in their home. Well, I brought her home, too, and even though Alaidh was not the supposed ideal I wanted - she was very petite and grey - I could not have loved her more.
Now I have two big girls that are brown tabbies and look like Maine Coons...maybe Alaidh had something to do with sending them to me...
But really, I love all kitties, whatever colour, size or breed!!

Trixy
Oooo what's- that! I'm going- to get it! |
| Purred: Wed May 13, '09 3:14pm PST | | | | | | I don't know very many cat breeds so after doing a quick search I came up with these two: An Egyptian Mau cat, I love there colors or a Munchkin because they are so cute. I don't know anything about these two breeds I am just going off of the cuteness of them for right now. I am wanting to look more into cat breeds because they facinate me. | | | | |

Stormy
Tall, Dark, and- Handsome. |
| Purred: Fri May 15, '09 10:03pm PST | | | | | | Domestice Long hair, I love them all, though I'm fond of the Torties and Calicos, though any other pattern or color in Long hair is beautiful and Dreamy enough for me. Though I have to say if it came to breed wise I'm partial on the Bengal. | | | | |

Kai
I'm not a- cat...I'm a- raptor! |
| Purred: Fri May 22, '09 11:21am PST | | | | | | I don't need a breed, but I do have a color preference for my next kittty. I want an Orange Tabby, or a Calico/Tortie!
Kai is my heart cat, and her personality (so cuddly yet so surprisingly evil!) fits me to a T!
My next cat will have to either be VERY tolerant to deal with Kai or give as good as they get!
