Choosing the Right Cat

GO!
Catster really wants you to find the right cat right from the start, so this is the place to talk about things like breed vs. mix, size, age, grooming, temperament and cost. No question is too silly here. This forum is for getting and giving helpful nice advice. It is not a forum for criticizing someone you do not know. We want to see lots of purring here!

Your mom is probably worried, too, that in a few short years, you may be leaving for college, and likely living in a dorm where you won't be able to have a pet. Who's going to take care of your kitty then? Apparently, she doesn't want it to be her.

I wouldn't push your mom too hard, because that might only make her resist you even more. But I wonder how she'd respond if you offered to get a summer job to pay for spay/neuter, shots, food and supplies? thinking

If all else fails, I like Merlin's idea of volunteering at a shelter. way to go

Well you could always talk to dad and convince him (since you said in one post he wasnt as much of a problem) and then see if he could talk to your mother.

I know it sucks but you may just have to wait. When she came up with excuses did you tell her how it could be prevented?
