How does the Catster Railroad work? Never even heard of
it until I saw it on here, and only just noticed this section.
Are there set schedules, days, times? How do you hook up
with someone if your running a part of a run? Who pays
for the gas? Are carriers provided? How do you know
your handing the cat/kitten to the right person?
Sorry if any of these questions sound stupid.
But I am willing to help. I am in the Syracuse NY area, and
travel to shows, all over NY, PA, NJ, CT, MA.
Hey Bumpurr. That is so nice of you to want to help. You can probably get some answers in the Catster/Dogster railroad group. I will send you an invitation.
I haven't done a leg yet as I rarely, if ever, see calls for them out here in Oregon. I think for the most part people or rescue groups post asking for help and then you respond and find out the details.
Sorry I don't have much more info but the group will for sure.
Still don't know the rules, lol, but guess I will find out if I am needed. Going to a show in Palmer PA, kinda near Allentown, this weekend, and
riding with someone, but if its an emergency, will see what we can work
out.
I tend to be overly pickey/protective of Bumpurr when we go to shows, I
usually go by myself, but catch a ride when I can, saves on gas for all of us.
Most I travel with are pretty used to it, and the ones that aren't, find out
real quick. Ran across that situation, when someone needed an
emergency ride home from a show, gave me a little of a hard time, told
them they could ride on the roof, lol.
I figure, I put Bumpurr in the car, its my responsibility to get him there
and back safetly, and comfortably. So I would be the same, about anyone's
cat I transported. Safety first.
I pretty much quit showing/traveling when the bad weather hits, not
going to put his life in danger.
Ah, the person I hand the cat off to, is going to need 6 forms of ID, and a
note from the president, lol, lol, lol.
Hi Bumpurr, your mum sounds just like my mum...We do Shows in UK and Europe and Mum did take a friends cat to Germany an even though she new who de New owner was ( A judge ) she wanted proof / id etc ..grins. Purrs Alfie
