 | | | | Ruffy, Smokieboo, Bella, Natalies, Princess and now CeeCee's mom here.rnrnWe are leaving for a short weeks trip tomorrow that we booked quite awhile ago.rnrnI am feeling so guilty and overwhelmed about leaving 'our kids'.rnI have spoken with my friend who's a vet tech. She said CeeCee would not be going home this week, most likely even under the best of circumstances-and while CeeCee is holding her own, it's not the best of circumstances. rn Ruffy and Bella go for a recheck tonight.rnrnRachel, the tech who works at the vets is watching everyone at home for us. My concern is that she has been made 'head tech' and her duties seem more than when we originally asked her to do this. For instance, she didn't answer 2 texts and 3 calls we had made to her. When we saw her last night she was apologetic, but assured us she is caring for them and would stay over some evenings when she didn't have to do an overnight.rnrnMy husband keeps telling me that everything will be fine, and we NEED this break-we're both overworked, exhausted, and just so in need of a rest from it all.rnrnLast year we had a catsitter I had used for years and she had been somoene I knew when I still worked at the shelter I used to work at. She always did a good job, but last year we were really distressed to come home to find that the air conditioner had been left off on a hot day, the garbage hadn't been emptied and there were maggots....ewww...in the garbage. Ruffy (we presume-he hates dirty boxes) had peed in the kitchen closet and it did not look as though things had been done as we had hoped. On the plus side, the cats were well.rn My husband (who loves our 'kids' as much as I do-Ruffy has always been 'his person') says that the kids will be fine with Aunt Rachel. When we did a long day trip and left her to watch them everything was fine and the apartment was pleasant and so was the atmosphere. rnrn But I'm feeling worried becuase we haven't been away overnight in so long, and I worry about my babies. Bella in particular hates it when we're away. And here they are 'spoiled', they get '2 breakfasts' and we're hope most nights by 6 to give them their dinner. We know on Rachel's late nights that may not happen...and it worries us. rnrn Rachael is a licensed vet tech, knows our cats, and is really a lovely calm person. I just worry with so many of our kids having medical issues lately.rnrnthanks for listening. rnThe Kew Gardens Clowder Mommy | | | | |
