Cat Attacked by a Raccoon

This forum is for cat lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your cat.

Yes, this shows why it's important to keep the rabies booster up to date--even if there has never been a case in your area, if a kitty got bitten or scratched badly enough by anything not known to be vaccinated, and had to see a vet they could end up in quarantine while being monitored Sorry, Meowma is very afraid even though the disease is really pretty rare in the US--there are scary rabies videos on Youtube but she had to sit thru an entire hour of an even scarier older film made in Africa which freaked everyone watching out! But if you are vaccinated, even that remote chance goes away smile
