Rescued kitten from parking lot, hair loss?

This forum is for cat lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your cat.

So today we went to a local restaurant to get food, and I noticed someone dropping of a tiny 5-6 week old kitten. I asked what they were doing, and they said they'd found the cat at a Burger King and had brought it here because their parents told them they couldn't keep it. Soooo...now there is a strange cat in my bathtub. -___-

It was COVERED in fleas, and I didn't notice until after I picked it up but it had some pretty serious hair loss on it's tail. At first I assumed it was flea allergy dermatitis, but then I remembered it could also be ringworm.

What's the likelihood of ringworm, really? I don't have gloves here and I'm hesitant to handle it further, but it did have a bug bite on it's foot (but the area wasn't bald or anything). We're going to try and see if our vet will let us drop it off in the AM to have tests done. The bald area on it's tail doesn't have any sores, but is dry/scaly. When I bathed it with Dawn soap, it had so much flea dirt and fleas that the water came off brown, so it could just have been fleas.

I don't know, I'm just kind of freaking out because we have two other completely healthy cats and two dogs and I *really* don't want to have to treat ALL of them, my husband is already mad enough about me taking it home in the first place. x__x
