 | | | | My sisters kitty, BeBop, has Inflamatory Bowel Disease or Intestinal Lymphoma. Both are treated the same: Prednisone every day and Leukeran every other day.We have to wear a disposable glove to touch the Leukeran as it is "chemotherapy". This 10 year old female is down below 5 lbs. She has little quality of life. She now is terrified of people because she hates getting "pilled". Now, not to brag, but I'm pretty good at pilling cats but this one has me puzzled. No one can even hold her much less attempt to open her mouth. She foams at the mouth before you even get close enough to pill her. I know this cat is not getting nor holding in her meds. I do, many times a day go after her to pet her, just for a min before she runs so we have contact besides the pilling.I have tried crushing it and putting it in food, put that rarely works as I'm guessing her tummy isn't too happy in the first place.
There is talk of "putting her down" when she gets below a certain weight as soon after her organs would fail. The big thing I am trying to do in the week I have left here is to be 100% certain she is getting her meds down everytime. Maybe then she will fell better and will eat which would make her feel better and she will eat, etc.
Any ideas? | | | | |
