Mommy caught me sneezing a lot yesterday. Is this a big worry? Should Mommy be taking me to the vet? I hope I don't have to go there.

This is my first post and I'm really shy. Usually my sister (Fiesta.com) posts.

Hi Mouf! Welcome to the Catster Forums! We have a lot of fun around here, hope to see you become a regular poster. smile

Are you still having any other symptoms? Runny nose/eyes or sniffling? If not, I would guess you're probably ok, it could have just been something in the air. But if it's still bothering you, then you might want to see the vet.

I agree with Beatrice...look for additional symptoms, i.e. plugged nostrils, nasal discharge (with blood or pus). It could be rhinitis (a head cold), a bacterial infection or even an airborn allergen that's causing the sneezing. Chronic sneezing can damage a cat's nose cartilage and rhinitis can advance to bronchitis in some cats. It's best to seek your vet's attention if the sneezing carries on.

Agreed, Seamus. Excellent advice, per usual.
