Kitten in heat

This forum is for cat lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your cat.

Well said Atrus. Really, some facilities offer spaying for less than $50. I realize that to someone broke that can seem like a lot of money, but I guarantee you that it's going to be a lot less than what it would cost to feed and house a future momcat and kittens for 8 weeks.

Spaying can be expensive, but caring for kittens is a lot more expensive (think of those future vet bills, yikes!)

Chloe was spayed at 5 1/2 months and she hadn't gone into heat yet. The shelter I volunteer at does spay/neuter surgery as soon as the kitten is 2 lbs, so they can go up for adoption at 3 months old.

I was spayed when I was 4 months at a special price b/cmom does rescue and I was one(then she adopted me yeah). SThen she he went to a house to see a rescue situation; there was a mom that looked exactly like me, my age and she had 3 kittens. All got adopted eventually but it made mom glad to know I was spayed.

Icicle went into her first heat and I have a neutured male Braveheart! Both driving mr crazy! After searching for help, I saw you post. Within a few hours of "plugging in" tempermants changed dramatically. They are both calm and Icicle is now awaiting surgury with no detress!!! Thank you so much for this tip. My kitten is even sweeter than her old self & Braveherat is content. No more fighting, meowing, just a whole lot of love!

Feliway is not a permanent fix. Only spaying really does it. I hope that you plan to get Icicle to the vet for one soon.
