Training motivators

This is a place to gain some understanding of cat behavior and to assist people in training their cats and dealing with common behavior problems, regardless of the method(s) used. Keep in mind that you may be receiving advice from other cat owners and lovers...not professionals. If you have a major problem, always seek the advice of a trainer or behaviorist!

I'm going to start working on clicker training with Trek this week because he has so many stinking bad behaviors that need to be dealt with. I know the most common reward for clicker training is treats, but not only is he not treat motivated, he actually tries to cover up the treats (I use Blue Buffalo Kitty Yums. My other 3 cats fall all over themselves trying to get to them). He's highly play motivated, so I'm thinking that I might try to use a feather toy of some sort (Trekkie LOVES feathers), but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?
