|I originally placed the cat tree in a location I thought was the only suitable one, but now after watching My Cat From Hell (we have one) I am thinking of moving it so our cat has access to the fireplace mantel, and on a side note we are putting a valance up as well as shelves so she has vertical space.
Anyway, if I move the tree to a better spot for everyone involved, will it be a major distress to the cat? I'd like it out of the entryway/hallway area it's in now, and she's also a terrible neighbor for my home business (she likes to eat/destroy my products and supplies).
Moving it gradually isn't really an option, we live in a small apartment and can't really have the tree in the middle of the living room for several days.
Will it help ease the transition if she gets access to areas she's been desperate for the entire time but until now I have been stubborn and not let her near? She gets on the mantel every chance she gets and she broke a beloved picture frame of mine getting up there, I figure if she's that determined I might as well find someplace safer for my pictures, and if it will help some of her naughty behavior I'm willing to sacrifice.
I guess what I'm hoping is it won't make matters *worse*, since I know cats are creatures of habit.
