Arrival Story:
I got an email that he was an eartipped cat, looking for his feral colony or a feral colony that could add him to their ranks, but on closer examination, he was unneutered and his ear was damaged, not eartipped - possibly from a fight. Since he was now classified as a stray, he was going to be put to sleep since no owner came forward to claim him and he appeared to be very aggressive. A friend and I decided to save him from that awful fate and add him to the feral colony she manages. AC&C named him Tucks (a play on tuxedo?) neutered, vaccinated & microchipped him, and we took him to go live with the other cats in the feral colony. About two weeks later, I got a call from AC&C that Tucks was trapped again (the microchip linked him to a woman who works with ferals at AC&C,who then contacted me) did I want to come pick him up? So I sprung him from jail again, and found that although the shelter said he was feral & aggressive, he was actually quite sweet & friendly! My husband and I decided that if he got caught again, he would come home to live with us. Guess what? I got a call yesterday (5/21/09) asking if I was missing a cat. Tucks was picked up off the street by an employee at the ASPCA, and his microchip led him back to me. It was meant to be! So Tucks became Othello and is now in his own room while we give him and the other beasties a chance to acclimate to each other and make sure Othello didn't pick up a cold or anything while he was out on the streets.

Bio:
Othello will be a big boy when he gains some weight! He eats like a horse, and is very affectionate. He knows his mind, though and has no trouble letting us know when to back off! He doesn't like to be restrained, so I guess with the stress of being trapped and in the shelter after being dumped on the streets he wasn't in a good mood when their vet tried to check him out - which to them made him aggressive - an instant death sentence for a cat in that shelter!
