Bio:
Bonnie is very shy around new people, with the exception of a few men! She is a very sweet cat with a huge personality. We love her very much! Please look at her 1st photo, she is a great birder! Shockingly, she caught this bird when she was 12!!! My husband Mark captured the moment in the fabulous photo. Please take a look at her most recent photo with yellow Iris taken April 2005.

Beloved Bonnie

Letter to my dear friend Lido:

It is with a broken heart that I'm writing you. Our dearest Bonnie has passed away. There have been a lot of tears and I miss her terribly.

There is something I want to thank you for. On Monday when I brought Bonnie to the Vet, they recommended we put her to sleep. Mark wasn't there so I called him to check what he wanted to do. He said that he would like Bonnie to come home, "like Lido did", as he just wasn't ready to let her go and neither was I. So I took her home and we feel we made the right decision. She was happy to be home and with us. For the most part she rested comfortably and we got to give lots of kisses and goodbyes. She even jumped up on the bed and curled up right next to my head! She could only stay for a few minutes but it was a such a sweet gesture. Then yesterday at 2:30 while I was in my studio, she came over to me, collasped on the floor, then let out one big meow. It was very quick, in less than a minute she was gone. But I was right there with her. She looked so peaceful afterwards, just like she was asleep. There was a relief that she was no longer in pain. We are so grateful for the time we had. Lido, I believe your experience with Fellini helped us be strong, allowing us to be there for Bonnie, and thankful that she has passed in a natural way.

We prepared a very nice spot in our yard for her, a protected area between the bamboo and behind a bottle brush tree. This morning, Mark and I will lay her to rest, we have some old bricks to mark her grave and want to find a nice flowering plant to put there for her too. She is wrapped in a thin cotton cloth with a lit candle. She is beautiful and at peace now. I really liked this poem I found on the "Pet's Rest" website and wanted to share it with you.

Regards,
Wendy

All Good Things

By Barbara Gill

I've been the best friend I can be

You've done all you can do for me

So now I cry to help you see

The time has come to set me free.

My days here are no longer fun

I long to be where I can run

To grassy fields warmed by the sun

Where Andrew waits for me to come.

You cannot bear to say good-by

We feel the same, both you and I

But I have grown so tired and weak

My body yearns for peaceful sleep.

They say all good things must end

But Please Remember this my friends

That when my life on earth is thru

My spirit will live on with you.

Your loving pet,

Smiley

Bonnie ate mango...

Mommy was eating mango, when comes up Bonnie for a taste. She gulp a huge piece, then another! She wanted another but I didn't give it to her for fear she'd blow chunks.
