Bio:
Story of Teddy: Teddy came to Critter Harbor from a shelter's euthanasia list. Before then he was a surrendered house cat. He is half bengal, and probably named for his teddy bear like interest in being cuddled. He has a classic bengal profile, spotted pattern, and lovely conversation skills. From his tabby cat parent, he has inherited a rich orange coloration, loud purr and kneading talents, and a love of being cuddled. He is a sweet sweet boy and rare treasure.

Hello kitten room friends!

There is a new foster cat coming to live with us today! His name is Teddy and he's half bengal, half orange tabby. I will certainly let him write you a diary entry, and post pictures just as soon as he arrives and gets out of his carrier... But for now I can relay to you his bio description. Whoo hoo!

Update On Freya: All Is Well!

Hello cats and kitties! This is Foster Lady just reporting in that Freya is ruling her new kingdom quite purr-ing-ly. She and her new feline housemate are getting along by ignoring each other and staying in separate rooms. (but not hiding from each other or fighting! Wow!) Her new humans ADORE her. They say that she's just the most loving and friendly cat, a true treasure. She's eating well, sleeping well, and just working out perfectly!

As to getting new fosters in, it's just a a little while longer! But soon! In the mean time, Moose and Captain Morgan have been sneaking in the foster room when I clean, looking for that hissy cat that they used to growl with under the door. (Freya) Or maybe for those two cute kittens that were so wanting to play with them and move in. (Bear and Manny) Or maybe even a whole herd of kittens that were up there this time last year, who knows! But Happy September, every kitty! Purrs!

Mythology of Freya: I Have Found My Kingdom.

Just when I thought I'd have to suck it up and conquer this foster home, take command of this kingdom from that Captain Morgan stinky sailor boy cat; I found my forever home!!!! That's right: my OWN kingdom and my OWN humans! And the best part: NO stinky boy cats!

My humans found me by talking to one of my rescue group's volunteers and describing their needs. They wanted a cat that was declawed, adult, female, and loving. So clearly, they were looking for me. They came to meet me at the farmer's market in Duluth, where the rescue humans have a regular spot to show off the lovely cats in their foster program. So there I was, ho-hum-ing and yawning at the passers by. Watching as they all flocked over to the kittens that were there on leashes... Listening in as human after human explained that they were either allergic to cats or had 18 already.

Then the crowds parted and a nice, polite, retired couple came right up to me. They looked at me with thoughtful, worshipping eyes, and I just knew these were the humans for me! They live out in the country in a big house with one other girl cat. Their first comment about me to the rescue humans was, "Ohhh, yay!!! She's even pudgy!" (SEE?! I knew my robust figure was an asset!) I rubbed my nose all over them and purred. And then they got excited because their current fair feline is rather uninterested in them. So that was it. I knew these were the humans for me!

So thank you for all your purrs and thoughts over this long internment in my foster home. And thank you for your love and attention. I'll miss all of you, lovely subjects. But rejoice in the thought that I am home at last. Good bye, Catsters!!! Purrrrrrrrrrrs!

Note from Foster Lady: We are overjoyed that Freya seems to have found the perfect match. We couldn't have asked for a happier ever after for this lovely lady cat. I'll update you all when we hear how she's settling in. But so far, so good! And as to the foster roster and this web page: expect to see a few new faces within the next couple weeks! Whoo hoo! Purrs!
