My *then* boyfriend (now hubby) and I had moved in together and actually managed to tolerate each other for a year. I had a cat already, and she was very sweet and liked my boyfriend very much, but he insisted that she was still "my" cat and wanted one of his own. A friend heard this and mentioned that she had a momma kitty about to have kittens very soon. We made time to visit about 3 weeks after the birth. The litter was an assortment of 3 white and 2 black fluffballs, still wobbly but beginning to explore. One of the little black guys was very friendly right off the bat and crawled right up on top of BF as he was laying on his back. This apparently triggered some sort of jealous competitiveness in a little white girl. She crawled up on BF's chest, kicked the little black guy off, and quite literally staked her claim and kept it for a solid 30 minutes! We made note of her markings, distinguishing her from her other white siblings and made arrangements to take her home in another 3 weeks. When we came back, there was no need to pick her out.... she waltzed right up to BF, and demanded her due. She has been Daddy's Princess ever since.

Greetings again dear Catsters.
I'm sure you've heard by now all about dear Calvin's tooth extraction. I must offer him my commiserations, as I have also recently lost one of my own "canine" teeth (& I absolutely agree with him... "canine" indeed!).
Yes, that Staffwoman of mine finally took me to the vet to have that darn tooth pulled. We'll just brush on past THAT experience!
At first, I was very unhappy about it. How could I maintain my queenly dignity while sporting a gaping hole in the front of my mouth?
However, I have discovered that I can still tear through my meats quite nicely... I daresay even better, now that I don't have to favor one side of my mouth.
So, my dear fellow toothless Calvin, I hope are recovering nicely, and offer my condolences and a little "silver lining".

I can't believe it! The Head Staffwoman tried to make me swallow the most vile pill this morning. She said it was to help my teeth feel better, but all it did was make me foam and drool in a most undignified manner. I am convinced that she is just trying to humiliate me!
I heard her telling Daddy that I was a "Drama Queen".
Well then, if I'm a Queen, then why does she treat me so disrespectfully? hmmmm? I think that Staffwoman needs to learn proper manners with me. hmph.
I need to take some time under the bed to compose myself after all this humiliating business. Just wait 'till Daddy gets home, he'll show that Staffwoman the proper way to treat a Queen.
