Arrival Story: Casper was rescue when found wondering the streets of New York City. He was adopted by a wonderful lady named Wendy.
Wendy's older cats did not appreciate a young kitten coming into their home where they had been queen bees and Wendy knew it was not going to work out.
She wanted to make sure he was safe and placed in a good home and contacted us to see if we would accept him. She knew that we were full and trying to raise the funds to build our first cat house so along with hand delivering him to us from New York, she also made a very large donation that gave us the rest of the funds we needed for our first cattery! She has continuted to be a wonderful sponsor and benefactor to us!
Casper is quite the little lover who loves everyone! You always find him curled up asleep with one of his other roommates.

Sanctuary: Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary was started to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed unadoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind.
We are a registered non profit with the state of North Carolina. There are no paid employees, only volunteers, so all contributions go directly to the kitties.
Rescue is about restoring hope and dignity to creatures for whom no one else cares about. We are but humble vessels to help these magnificent creatures find their forever homes. The responsibility is big but the returns on our emotional investment are greater. You cannot place a value on the look of contentment that comes when an animal is clean, exercised, warm, fed and safe for the first time in its life.
