Arrival Story:
My husband and I decided it was time to get Muffin a kitty-playmate (and someone to help her take on the dog!) So my mom and I dropped by the nearest shelter and looked at some cats. My husband wanted a long-haired one (yay for shedding!) so I picked out this one to hold. She flopped over in my arms and I held her like a baby on her back for 10 minutes...by then I figured she was coming home with me no matter what! http://i277.photobucket.com/albums /kk72/smscharber/Scrapbook%20Pages /LucyPage.jpg Striped paper, embellishments, and gray paper from the Autumn Treasures Kit on www.sentimentalstyle.blogspot.com; cream paper from the Splendid Kit from www.shabbyprincess.com

The Lovely Life of Little Lucy

A Cat with a Cold

It would appear I have a bit of a cold. Nothing serious at all, but I have been sneezing and making odd noises all day, and not eating much. Mother has been watching me carefully and making sure I get plenty of attention. I have also been acting oddly, a little stand-off-ish, which is abnormal.

I am drinking plenty of water and still enjoy my cuddle time, so Mother isn't too worried.

A Little Mischief?

As you all know, I am known as "The Good Child" at my house. I never do anything bad or destroy things. Yesterday, while Mother and Father had a barbeque, I stayed in the bedroom until they were done eating. Well, eventually Mother brought Muffin in there and shut the door on us...I was none too pleased to have to share my territory, but I am a lady, so I tolerated it.

Once they were done eating and let us out, I came to explore. There was a little dog named Al running around the house every once in awhile...Muffin was teasing him terribly! I walked over to the sliding door and let out a few "RAWRS" through the screen, just so everyone knew I was around and who was in charge. This got the canines a little excited, but Father's sister came inside and held me, which I do enjoy.

All in all, it was a pleasant evening.

To say it best...

Our wonderful furiend Max #876388 on Dogster spoke so well on the subject, we asked if we could repost his diary. He should get DDP for this!

"Dogster is an amazing place full of happy, silly photos of a new stance, reaction to a toy, happy chases ~ so many cherished moments. And, when necessary, we grieve together when having to guide one of our beloved to the Bridge. We are truly lucky and loved. With that said, this diary post is not about us, but for those beautiful dogs whose lives were not humanely celebrated.

We are very disappointed and saddened that MV has been conditionally reinstated by the NFL. While it’s been stated that legally he’s paid a debt to society, a far greater debt remains and one incapable of recompense. We demand much more than a publicist-driven campaign in concert with HSUS to indemnify the torture, starvation, slaughter and sadism of MV. We want more than insincere atonement and photo ops. We want those lives that were lost to his heinous brutality and greed to matter.

As a personal form of protest to the profit-driven decision of the NFL, from this day forward we will no longer purchase items containing an NFL insignia. This may mean a change in some of Mom’s food items, but it’s our way, albeit small, of honoring the lives of far too many.

Rest sweetly, pups. We will never forget."
