 Nicknames: Previ, Andrea, Andi, Brownie

Coloration: Brown-Patched Tabby

Arrival Story: I told one of my coworkers, who is involved in cat rescue, that I was interested in fostering pregnant cats & raising their kittens. She started sending me emails about local cats in need, and I picked up Anna Magdalena in March 2008. Shortly thereafter, Andrea Previn (then called Brownie) was turned into a local shelter as a stray with 3 kittens. The funny thing was that my coworker had run into Brownie on a previous TNR trip -- at the time Brownie was supposedly the cat of a woman who told my coworker not to take Brownie along with the other strays since Brownie was her cat & she "loved" her. Sometime later, though, Brownie had kittens, and the woman who "loved" her called the pound to come pick up the "stray" cat & her kittens. Unfortunately my coworker didn't find out about this in time to pick up Brownie before she was taken to the shelter -- so Brownie & kittens spent several days in the shelter before my coworker could bail her out. I picked up Brownie and the kittens from my coworker the next day since she was having her house treated for termites the next week, and I ended up keeping her for the duration.

Bio: I picked up Brownie on April 6, the birthday of conductor/composer/pianist Andre Previn, so I redubbed her Andrea Previn -- it sounds so much more elegant than Brownie! She is friendly with me, but does not like my other cats. She is a very pretty girl -- I think she may have a bit of Abyssinian in her background. Her three kittens are extremely playful and friendly (about 7 weeks old at this writing)-- I'm trying to decide whether to call them Bravissima, Brahms, and Bartok, or Chaos, Entropy, and Scherzando. . . every time I open the door to "their" room -- the kittens run out at warp speed and scatter over the house bouncing and playing! It takes forever to gather them up and get ready to go anywhere! Andrea is a watchful mom, and doesn't take kindly to my other cats. I don't know yet whether that's specifically because of the kittens, or whether she really would prefer to be an only cat. She and the kittens will be available for adoption through the sponsoring rescue group when the kittens are old enough. There is one red classic tabby male, one light grey mackeral tabby girl, and a beautiful darker grey classic tabby girl. Contact me via pmail for more info on adoption. Update 5/31/08- kittens delivered to adoption group but may still be available; pmail me for group's phone number. Mom is still with me and available. Now that she's not having to be a protective mom, she is more tolerant of the other cats, and she loves other kittens.

Well, no word from the prospective adopters, so foster Meowmi is listing me as adoptable again. . . but she didn't make me go to the adoption show today - she just took some of the kits. . . whew! I hate riding in the car!

My foster Meowmi didn't take me to the adoption show last weekend -- she was hoping the nice lady who held me would call to say her husband was coming to meet me, but she never called. Foster Meowmi thought perhaps the nice lady had found another cat she liked better, but then today she talked to the adoption show head-lady. She said the nice lady's husband came to the show last Saturday to see me, but I wasn't there! She said the nice lady & her husband seemed very interested in me, so perhaps I'll get to meet the nice lady's husband this coming weekend! I certainly hope so!

What's the deal with this?? Here I am honored as Cat of the Week for the Hey! You Look Like Me! group, so I'm expected to be treated . . . well. . . like the Cat of the Week, at least, if not Empress of the Universe!!
But what happens?? Monday night foster Meowmi closes me in her teensy little bathroom with NO food OR water!! I cried so pitifully, she actually moved a sleeping bag in and slept on the bathroom floor. . . but in the morning she stuffed me into one of those horrid little carry-prisons & took me to a prison hospital, where she left me!
I don't remember too much of the ordeal, since the evil prison hospital guards messed with my memory . . . but foster Meowmi showed up the next day, trying to make nice, calling me "sweetie" . . . Hah! I can see through her ploys! She stuffed me back into the little carry-prison and drove me back home , where she closed me back in the teensy bathroom.
She brought in food and water for me, but I refused to touch it since I'm sure she must have drugged it so she can do more dreadful things to me. I already have a scar on my tummy where they did something to me at the prison hospital yesterday. Maybe they were aliens, implanting tracking devices into me. . . Or worse!
She came in again later, and when she wasn't looking I snuck out & hid back in my bedroom - I'm sure she'll not find me for awhile, at least. I feel betrayed! I thought she liked me!
