Arrival Story:
I found Misty at a breeder's house, living in an iron birdcage with her brother. The house was one of those "rathouses" you see on Animal Planet. Apparently once a reputable breeder, this woman now had 100 goats, about 20 neglected German Shepherds, and a breeding pair of Siamese in a half-built house full of trash, fleas, snakes, rats...you get the picture. I had to take her to the emergency vet to be treated for fleas, mites and parasites before I could take her home, but she's been healthy ever since.

Bio:
Misty Blue is named for a blues band that is very popular here in Austin called Blue Mist. She's never quite gotten over her horrid kittenhood and is easily frightened. When I first brought her home she quickly learned to open drawers--any drawer in the kitchen or bathroom. There was a particular small drawer in the bathroom that was just kitten-size. She made it her home until she outgrew it. She still loves tiny spaces and I indulge her, making a nest any time she picks a new spot. She's especially fond of my mom, and can recognize her voice on the phone. When I'm talking to my mom, Misty knows even if she's in another room. Since few things really turn Misty on, my mom talks to her on the phone! She gets excited, dances, kneads, and purrs.
