Arrival Story: I was born on May 1st, 2006. I was the runt of the litter. My original owner was shocked to see me and my sister and brother. See, she liked black cats. She had two black cats in her first apartment, bred from two black cats. She bred her female and had a litter of black kitten. She was up all night with the litter and fell sleep the next morning. And there was a fire! She couldn't get out the door, because she was tried to long to catch her two adult cats who were too afraid to come to her. So she grabbed two of the kittens and jumped out of a second story window. It broke her back! She was in the hospital a long time, but luckily her family found somone to foster the kittens and they were the only feline survivors. That was my mother and my uncle she saved. She was sad about losing her adult cats, but happy the kittens survived. She wanted to keep the line going, so she bred my mother to a friends black cat, who was from a litter produced from two black cats. And she had a litter of seven, 3 black cats... and four white ones!
My new family lived next door to my mother's owner, and they were friends. They saw that my mother wasn't able to keep such a large litter well-fed. I especially looked undernourished. They managed to convince my mother's owner to supplement our feeding, but unfortnately it was to late for one of my brothers. After a couple of weeks, my eyes began to open. By then, my brother and sister and I were no longer snowy white, but a creamy color with faint dark points on the tips of our ears, tails, paws, and noses. Everyone was particularly fascinated by this. Apparently there was a siamese cat somewhere in my lineage. A few more weeks past, and I grew bigger and stronger. My brother and sister developed light lilac colored points, but my points darkened to a chocolate and finally a seal color, and my eyes stayed blue when the rest of my litter's started to change. To thank them for all of their help, my mothers owner gave me to my new family. I was afraid of the older cats at first, but my new mommies got me a playmate my age, and one of the older cats, Cassie, acted as a surragate mother, letting me pretend to nurse (& eventually weaning me for a second time) and keeping me well groomed. I am still a special favorite of hers even though I am nearly two years old!
