Arrival Story:
I searched the Internet for a cat to adopt. I had lost my beautiful Ashton. I didn't feel ready for a new cat, but my two other cats seemed lost without Ashton and needed an alpha cat to take his place. I read a description of Nashdoitso and he sounded right. When I drove out to take a look at him, I reminded myself of all the things you are supposed to think about when getting a cat; be rational, don't just react to the cuteness and take the cat. When I saw him, he was active and goofy and seemed pretty nice. Then I asked the lady if he would let me pick him up. She said sure. When I picked him up, he threw his arms around me, buried his face in my neck and began purring and I was gone. He was going home with me. It turned out he had a couple of issues, ringworm and gingivitus, so he had to have special baths and be quarrantined for a week, but otherwise he was fine. His first day out, he immediately realized there was an alpha cat spot and he wanted it. He came from a huge farm with lots of other cats, so having only two other cats around seemed like heaven to him. That night, after I turned out the light, I felt a soft little paw politely pull at the blankets. Nash was sitting next to my head as if to say, can I sleep with you? I opened the covers and he crawled underneath and into my arms, putting his head on my shoulder. He slept that way every night after.
