Arrival Story:
Mittens showed up with her sister Dippy on our deck one chilly fall evening. I had just sold my mother's house, my childhood home, after she passed and I was very depressed. One of the books I saved from my mother's house was the Cat Who Came for Christmas. As I sat and read that book, these two little kittens came out of nowhere. We played with them through the screen door and they got more and more tame, but the local shelter said there was no chance of taming them and we should just trap them and bring them to the shelter. I knew what would happen to them there, so I could not do it. After weeks of feeding them, my husband finally agreed to take them in. We had them tested and spayed, and then we slowly introduced them to their Bengal sisters. The big sisters were not very happy, but eventually, they settled into their own kitty hierarchy. Mittens is definitely MY kitty and follows me everywhere. While on the outside it might seem that I saved them, it was more like they saved me. They brought me a lot of joy and solice on what was a very difficult time in my life.....and I know who sent them my way.

Bio:
I think she has a bit of Norwegian Forest Cat in her, like one of the local strays. Of course, my husband insists she is 100% Street Rat!
