Talking to her bipeds; jumping on top of entertainment centers and slightly ajar doors; talking to her brother Laughing Tree; talking to her friend Macha; talking to herself; chasing her tail; hunting leaves that happen to blow by her window

The largest vocabulary of feline curse words, inherited from her mother (Zada). Being able to jump tall buildings in a single bound. That look that makes you feel 1 inch tall and deserving of a horrible death (also inherited from her mother).

Arrival Story:
When my cats Zada (RIP) & Sebastian had a surprise litter of 6 kittens on October 30, 1993 I decided we weren't going to keep any of them. Then I kept Laughing Tree, and my mother called frantically asking if I had taken the kittens away yet. When I said no, she was relieved and said she wanted to keep "Rain" (my original name for her) for herself. I smiled, knowing my cunning plan to convert my mother into a cat person had finally worked.

Bio:
Rain lives with my parents, but has visits with some of my cats: Laughing Tree (her brother), Macha, and Black Elk. Like her brother, she's always talking and is a total cuddle-bunny. Unlike her brother, she actually kinda sorta grew up. Recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, she underwent the radioactive iodine treatment and is adjusting well. The treatment worked like a charm, and she's back to normal. (I do still jokingly call her "my little Isotope," though ). She's a great little sister, and the darling of my mother's heart. Even my father ("no cats! we don't need a cat!" -- famous last words) can't resist her when she jumps onto his lap, purring and telling him about her day. Rainbow passed away on September 4, 2007 from renal failure. This is a common after-effect of radioactive iodine treatment, but we don't regret undergoing the treatment for one minute. It gave us two more wonderful years with her, without pain or discomfort until the last couple of weeks of her life. We miss her greatly, and always will. We believe that she's sitting in a tree over the Bridge with her mom, Zada, and her auntie Kate and uncle Oberon - neither of whom can likely get a word in edgewise as she and her mom talk up a storm. We love you, Miss Mao!
