She would get frustrated when chasing a laser light (or other toy) in circles and would meow out of frustration. She was the only cat that would spin around som much that she would be really dizzy when she stopped.

Arrival Story:
Mary is an offspring of Bethany and her brother, Carma. Mary has a sister named Martha who is the gray kitty in the pix. Little Black Mary and Martha had originally gotten a home at about 10 weeks old with a friend of mine. This friend had Mary & Martha for less than a year and then one day I got this call... went something like this: "My husband and I cannot take care of the cats anymore. We are going to try to find homes for them (this was a Sunday) but if we can't, we will be taking them to the shelter." When I said she could give them back to me, she said no. I don't really know why, but this upset me to no end since when I find homes for my animals, I want forever homes and I want the person to know that if something happens, they can return them to me. On Wednesday of that week, I called the shelter and warned them that my friends may be coming in with a black cat named Mary, and a gray cat named Martha. I told them the story and said that I wanted the cats back. Of course they agreed, and said that if they came into the shelter that they would call me. Friday morning I got a call about Mary and her sister from the shelter and I got a ride over and picked them up. The shelter didn't even process them and passed them both over to me. I kept Mary for quite a few years before finding her a new home with a woman with a physical disability that lived in an apartment building around the block from me. I didn't know the person and hope that Mary got a good home. She was a sweet cat and I cried when I handed her over even though I visited the woman and her friends for a while and met their other animals. Mary was the last of my cats I adopted out and my heart breaks that I had to do it.

Bio:
Mary was the runt of her litter of two. When Mary's eyes opened, the next morning they were resealed shut. I had to rub antibiotics on her eyelids and the next morning they opened again and stayed that way! She has her father's eyes, big yellow/green eyes. When she was a tiny kitten, I didn't want to name her and her sister because I knew I had to find her a home. However, she was called Tumbleweed because she was this tiny fluff of a thing that kind of blew around the apartment.
