Arrival Story: Okay it's kind of a shady story, if you ask me. ;)>But we had been trying to find and get a siamese kitten for a couple of months, when every try failed horribly. I was making Brian drive long distances, going to shelters where they ended up putting the kitten to sleep before we got there, and the last trip ended up wrecking his car going upstate. :(
So a great thing happened the night we went downstate to an event called Venetian fest. Everything was awful at the end of the night and we still had a mile long walk. Brian was bugging me and I wanted to get away from him so I turned around and started walking back. All of a sudden I walk up to a kitty half way up a tree, just looking at me with wild eyes. She came down from the tree and walked over to me and let me pet her. I saw brian and walked over to him and she followed. She kept her distance but stuck around us while we were talking. After a while, when she would go out of sight I would just pucker and smack my lips for her and she would come running.
It's not that shady, but I wanted to keep her whether she was wild or had a home. Well, actually her coat was beautiful and clean, and she was well mannered, except she was very emaciated looking, and aimlessly walking around. Brian was saying she probably had a family, but the looks of her told me otherwise. I picked her tiny body up and with no problem I carried her the whole mile walk.
We slept in a tent in the backyard and she roamed free all night. I gave her milk, stayed up and made sure she was okay, and surely enough she came running back to me if I called for her. We took her back home with us the next day.
We had keira for a month and she was growing. I thought her to be gaining healthy weight from her diet, and didn't think much of her belly. It took us until the time when we could feel the movement of her babies inside her belly to reeeally know. I felt horrible, went and bought some kitten food for her, and pampered her the whole way through until the night she had her five kittens.
That night, she came and layed by me on our bed, I knew something was going on. She was reaching out for comfort from us, until she started licking herself and growling. I stayed with her for 7 hours of labor, while she popped each and every kitty out onto our bed. How lovely! I was just really relieved everything went fine, although it did ruin my sheets.
Unfortunately, one died two days later. I had never known that to happen so it was really hard to take. We named her Ashley, because she was black like p head and stunner, but with a couple of ashy looking marks. We buried her under a tree by a river. Keira didn't really think much of it and didn't notice she was gone.
All is well with the little ones and She is a great mommy!
