Arrival Story:
When my family moved to Michigan after I had grown up in another state and was now living in a strange and unfamiliar place, I told them having a pet cat would make me very happy. I didn't actually think I'd get one, but one particular day my parents and grandma told us we were going to pick up Missy (my grandma's dog) at the vet. When we got there we were taken into a back room with some cages. In those cages were two kittens. I couldn't believe it at first but my sister and I were told they were ours. I decided that the one I was holding would be mine, so my sister got the other. Because I had always wanted to use the name, my cat was named Nicholaus, or Nicky for short. Nicky now lives with my mom, along with his brother, since the rest of us are too far away or don't have the time to properly care for them. I miss him very much.

Bio:
Nicky and his brother (Norman) were found with their siblings in a box on the side of the road. One of the vet's assistants found them and they were taken in for care. The others had been given away by the time they were left, and since it's a good idea to have more than one cat, my parents got both. I'm very glad we did. Nicky is a very large cat - at times it appears his body is huge and his head is small. People like to comment on how fat he is, but I don't really think he's all THAT big. He has a "Y" on his back, and at times I wonder if I should've given him another name to fit with that.
