Arrival Story:
In 2002, I was in my backyard when I heard a dog barking up in the wooded hills behind the house. When I looked, I saw a cat running like mad. She jumped down onto our fence but couldn't move, as she was very far along in a pregnancy. I pulled her down and took her inside. Through the window I saw a boy and his dog trying to find the cat they'd been chasing. We went back outside when they'd gone and she jumped into my lap. She was a small cat with a huge belly, so I named her Brunhilde, which became just "Bru." Her first litter didn't make it as she was very malnutritioned, and she had a second litter before I could get her fixed. The second time around, two of three were healthy and survived. The first born came out backwards and sadly suffocated before I could get to her to help.
